THE BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT – JUNE 20, 2022
“The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? ln the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God; so that we may understand what God has freely given us.”
- 1 Corinthians 2:11-12
Good Monday, everyone! We are almost at the tail-end of June and we’re excited for the things to come. But for today, on 2 Empower U, our focus will be on praying. Not just any kind of praying but the sincere, heartfelt kind – the one that is “in the Spirit”.
You often hear this term, “in the Spirit,” but what exactly does it mean? How does one “pray in the Spirit?” This is what Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will share with you today. He’ll help you understand what sincere, heartfelt, “in the Spirit” prayer is. Maybe then you can use his insights to determine how you’ve been praying versus to how you should be praying. Have you really been sincere? Or have you just been babbling every time you prayed? What difference can a sincere prayer or two make? Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will answer these questions for you today.
The Mind is a Window for the Spirit
Pastor Thomas has interesting and helpful insights on the mind being the window for the Spirit; how the Spirit connects with your mind and vice versa. How is this related to a prayer-filled life? Why is it important for your mind and the Spirit to connect and stay connected? The good pastor will share with you his insights and experiences on these questions.
Additionally, in this episode of 2 Empower U, Pastor Thomas will explain what praying in tongues mean and how this can help you pray in the Spirit. He will also give you a breakdown of the benefits of praying in the Spirit.
Points to remember:
- Don’t prophesy trouble, just get connected.
- Pray abundantly.
- Pray and discern.
The Holy Spirit will give you your own vocabulary, words to utter so you can communicate well, especially in prayer.
