BACK TO THE BASICS PART 3 – HOW TO BEGIN DAILY QUIET TIME
“God wants to meet you for spiritual breakfast.”
- Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach
Hello, everyone! Welcome to today’s episode of 2 Empower U, where Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will continue talking about going back to the basics. This time around, the good pastor will be sharing with you his insights and suggestions on how to begin – and establish – your daily quiet time with God (and with yourself).
Meeting God for Breakfast
According to Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach, the ideal quiet time is early in the morning, when you still have a lot of time to give to God. The good pastor will explain to you how you can “give the best part of your day, not your leftovers” to God.
Pastor Thomas will also tell you stories about characters in the Bible who used the early morning as their quiet time – Abraham, Moses, Job, Hannah. Daniel. Jesus also starts His day with a quiet time.
“Early morning quiet time is like is telling God that He is your first priority; that the first part of your day is for Him.”
- Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach
The good pastor also offers suggestions on how long a quiet time should be and what resources you need to prepare. And he’ll make you understand how important it is to have the right attitude, to prepare yourself for your quiet time.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
- Psalm 46:10
Before the end of today’s 2 Empower U, Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will coach and guide you to your 15 minutes with God.

BACK TO THE BASIC PART 2 – THE PURPOSE OF A DAILY QUIET TIME
“Give to the Lord the glory due to His name. Worship the Lord in the splendour of His Holiness.”
- Psalm 29:2
Today is the 2nd Monday of 2022, and here on 2 Empower U, Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will continue focusing on “going back to the basics.” This time, though, he will be giving you his insights on the four reasons that you need to start a daily quiet time. These are four things that can help give more meaning to your life.
Time for Devotion
Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will talk to you about giving time for your devotion to God. Learning how to give God what is due His name; worshiping and glorifying in His love and Holiness will turn your life around.
Time to Find Direction
The pastor will help you realize how your quiet time with God can help point you to the right path, the path that He has set for you. With everything that has been going on in the world, you may be a little lost of confused now, but God can lead you to where you should go.
“Show me the path where I should go, O Lord; point out the right road for me to walk. Lead me….”
- Psalm 25:4
Time to Delight (in God)
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
- Psalm 37:4
Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach will also talk to you about the real meaning of “delighting yourself in the Lord” and how this will bring you joy and pleasure. He’ll share his insights about the importance of spending time with God.
Time for Growth
Growing with God is one of the best things that can happen to you, and this is something that Pastor Thomas A. DeLoach knows by heart. He will talk to you about what it feels like to be with God from day to day and grow in His likeness.
The more (and better) you will know God, the more you will love Him.
